Collaboration with Rose Attal. We created this festival to promote contemporary Arab artists and to reshape narratives around Arab culture in the West. Paris’ multicultural melting pot contains a sizable and ever-growing Arab population that is harmfully misrepresented in Parisian society. We want to give room for cultural narratives to take on new forms through musical performance. The idea for this poster was to overlay some traditional elements of Arab pop culture on popular expressions in modern design. For the face of the event, we chose to redesign "Arouset el Mouled", a sugar doll that symbolizes festivities in the Middle East, to match the bold and edgy aesthetic of the youthful performing DJs, rappers and singers.
